Fulham Band have returned from a highly successful Whit Friday weekend. The band performed at the Whit Walks on Friday morning in Mossley, before taking part in seven contests around Saddleworth and putting on a concert on Saturday afternoon.

London & Southern Counties Champions, the Fulham Brass Band performed a free concert at All Saints Church, Fulham on the 7th May. The concert programme covered some of the greatest and most important music in the history of the British Brass Band, as well as some of the best contemporary music written for Brass Band. Fulham Brass Band were busy as usual over the Easter weekend. The band performed throughout Saturday afternoon at Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham Football Club, to entertain the crowds watching the University boat race. We would like to extend our hearty congratulations to the Cambridge rowers on a fantastic win.
A reduced band also performed a concert on Good Friday at the King’s Mall in Hammersmith as part of their Easter celebrations. The band entertained shoppers with a selection of crowd pleasers.
On Saturday 20th March, Fulham Brass Band competed in the regional qualifiers in Stevenage and were placed FIRST! in a field of 14 similarly ranked bands! The test piece was Labour and Love by Percy Fletcher, a classic of the brass band repertoire, and the first original piece of contest music for the genre being composed in 1914. Continue reading »
