Rehearsals

We rehearse on Monday evenings every week from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at the British Legion Club.  You’ll need to ring the doorbell to be buzzed in.

As with most brass bands, we play a variety of music each week - some music will be used as a one-off to improve sight-reading, others will be played regularly in preparation for upcoming concerts, recordings or contests. All members of the band (regardless of which seat they play) are given the opportunity to play solo, duet or trio features to improve confidence, sound and technique.

We’ll usually get together twice a week in the immediate run-up to a contest – sometimes with ’sectionals’ being arranged before or after the main band rehearsal.  Rehearsals are focused and well structured in terms of content but remain social and informal – we’ll play for an hour, grab a drink from the very reasonably-priced Club bar in the interval, and play on until ten.
