Fulham to Play Concert at St. James’s School, Olympia to Raise Funds for New Sixth Form Centre

On Thursday 17th October at 7:30pm, the Fulham Brass Band will be playing their first concert under the leadership of their new MD, Christopher Augustine. Tickets available at the following link: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/226917

The concert will be a mixture of modern pieces, brass band classics and will feature music to highlight each of the various sections. The purpose of the concert is to help raise funds for the building of a new sixth form centre adjacent to the current school in Earsby Street, Olympia.

Fulham Brass Band, in keeping with its aims of becoming involved in the local community, is participating in a concert at a nearby school with the aim of entertaining as well as educating. We hope that putting on such a concert will inspire the pupils to consider playing a brass instrument. Currently one of the few brass players at the school is our own 2nd baritone player, Bethan Carney. Seeing and hearing a live brass band is something everyone should experience; also we would like to think that parents might be equally inspired, seeing how such a band can allow players an outlet to express and enjoy their musical skills, long after they have left the classroom.
