A wedding with a twist!

A group of eight players from Fulham Brass Band were booked to provide the music for a wedding with a slightly unusual theme in Stratford last weekend…Before the wedding, the ensemble entertained the well wishers with old football favourites such Mango Grove and Back Home. The bride walked up the aisle to the traditional wedding march Here Comes the Bride which then morphed halfway through into the upbeat theme from 70′s TV programme The Big Match!

Later, a churchlike version of the Pet Shop Boys’ well known tune Go West provided a musical backdrop to a catholic Communion. The signing of the register was accompanied by Theme from Grandstand whilst Match of the Day was the exit tune for the happy couple and guests. A more upbeat of Go West was then played outside whilst photographs were being taken. Finally, the band’s Musical Director, Simon Jones, presented the couple with a score to his arrangement to the Wedding March and Theme from Big Match as a gift to remember Fulham Brass band.

The day was rounded off at the pub where impromptu versions of Congratulations and various other football tunes filled the air! A nice, yet, unusual gig for Fulham Brass Band and we wish Gosia and Louis every happiness for the years to come.
