Fulham Brass are preparing for the most important competition in their banding calendar – the regional qualifiers held in Stevenage on Saturday 21st March 2009.
The competition will see Fulham Brass compete against other similarly ranked brass bands from across the London and Southern Counties area in an effort to qualify for the national finals in Harrogate in October.
The piece that has been selected is ‘The Once and Future King’ by Andrew Baker. This three movement suite for brass band is inspired by Arthurian legends. The movements are 1) Intrada: Tintagel 2) Processional: Lyonesse 3) Toccata: Badon Hill.
With a strong line up players to choose from and after some good performances at recent competitions, motivation and confidence within the band is high.
