Formed in 1895, Fulham Brass Band has a long history of music making and strong links with the local community. We have a regular programme of concerts scheduled throughout the year, TV and film work, and frequently compete against other brass bands at venues around the country. Our friendly, sociable and accomplished ensemble always welcome brass and percussion players that are new to the London area.

pre-nationsl Fulham Brass Band were winners of the 3rd section ‘Area’ contest in March 2010. As such, they have qualified to represent the London and Southern Counties area at the National Finals compeition held in Harrogate on Sunday 26th September 2010. The test-piece is ‘Willow Pattern’ by Philip Harper. Here is how we are preparing for the most important contest in the brass banding calander:-

7th August 2010: St James Park – Fulham’s first public performance of the Nationals testpiece. Full independant review here

August – September 2010: Each rehearsal we will video a performance of the testpiece and uploaded it onto our facebook site for our freinds to see how the band is working on the piece http://www.facebook.com/#!/brassbander

September 2010: Small groups of Fulham players will be raising funds to pay for the Nationals trip by playing around our local area

September 12th 2010: Pre-nationals concert with Friary Brass Band (1st section) and LGB (4th section). The event is hosted by BBC2’s Listen to the Band Frank Renton http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=148135918541876&ref=mf

September 19th 2010: Fulham Brass raise funds for the Nationals trip by playing a concert (featuring the testpiece) at Parsons Green, Fulham

st-james-poster Fulham Brass Band presented their annual summer appearance at St James’ Park in Central London on Saturday 7th August 2010.

In preparation for the Nationals competition held in Harrogate at the end of September, the band gave its first public performance of the test piece ‘The Willow Pattern’ by Philip Harper. Read more

The band is well used to welcoming players from all over the world to play with us and Daniel entertained an appreciative audience with his solo rendition of ‘Georgia on my mind’. Read more

Fulham Brass Band will be performing to the nation once again on Monday’s “5 O’Clock Show” (5pm, Channel 4, 14/06/10).

Fulham at Whit Friday

Fulham Band have returned from a highly successful Whit Friday weekend. The band performed at the Whit Walks on Friday morning in Mossley, before taking part in seven contests around Saddleworth and putting on a concert on Saturday afternoon.

The weather returned to its usual Whit Friday brilliance, and the band responded with a string of high quality performances. Read more
